Last Sunday night as my sister and her husband were getting ready for bed, they could smell something hot. They live in an old home where there is only one outlet in each room. My brother in law took the cover off of one of the outlets only to find the inside of their bedroom wall on fire. He then yelled to my sister to get the kids and get out. Here is the result of their fire. They are unable to live in their cute home for now. However, it will be restored to be a beautiful "new" house with all new updated wiring. This first photo is the wall in my sisters room where the fire started.

This is taken from the top of her stairs looking down. Lots of insulation and water. Not a good mix.

Here is the outside of her bedroom wall that burned the worst on the outside.

In the kids rooms upstairs all of the ceilings had to be pulled down because the fire was in the walls and attic and in order for the firemen to get to it they had to find it. So sad. This is Krysha's room

This is my favorite photo. Is this not the truth?

This is Kyerons room.

I'm still thinking of them every day. I can't imagine. What a blessing that they have so much family surrounding them.
They've got a good insurance guy, right? :)
No, not a good insurance guy a GREAT insurance guy! He has been so wonderful and they are so grateful! Thank Jeff for me and I'll thank him too. So nice of you guys to come by that night.
So sorry. That's so great that he smelled it before going to bed and all of the family got out. What a tender mercy.
How scary! Glad everyone was okay, and hope the repairs go smoothly and quickly!
One of those things you think will never happen to you! So glad to hear no one was hurt. That's the thing with old houses...Nate had to do total rewiring when we first purchased our current house because back in the day, they only needed one electrical thing running at a time.
Take care of each other!
